I had lunch at the Foster golf course yesterday and there were quite a few people watching the games. The Sounders FC are a success and the George & Dragon owners have opened a second pub in Ballard. Clearly the World Cup has drawn a lot of new, younger fans this year. The old joke that soccer is the sport of the future and always will be seems to be losing currency, at least in this town.
